Arguably the greatest player to ever dunk a basketball. Today the Jordan brand is a nearly $1 billion (sales) business for Nike, sponsoring other athletes including Derek Jeter, Carmelo Anthony and Ray Allen. Today Jordanis a minority owner and head of basketball operations for the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats; majority owner Robert Johnson has recently been shopping the team, and Jordan's reportedly on the short list of potential buyers.

But United fans, still reeling from the departure of the World Player of the Year, will now also have to contemplate the reality of losing crowd favourite Carlos Tevez to rivals Manchester City.

Though United are making desperate efforts to replace Ronaldo and reinvigorate their forward line, it is understood that Tevez has accepted a massive £160,000-a-week deal to move to Eastlands.

19. Lebron James:James won this year's NBA Most Valuable Player award in a landslide after leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to the best record in the league. General managers across the league are frothing at the mouth as King James' free-agent status looms next summer. The Cavs are the odds-on favorite to sign him,Nike Shox R4, because they can offer the biggest contract under the league's salary-cap rules. The Knicks will be a player if he wants the bright lights ofNew York. Two-year agreement with Microsoft expired at the end of 2008, but he retains endorsement contracts with Nike, Upper Deck, State Farm Insurance and VitaminWater.

City officials, worried that Tevez may yet be persuaded to stay at Old Trafford, are anxious to close the deal, especially since United are unlikely to match a financial package which almost puts the player on a level with record-signing Robinho.

'City feel that United may have dragged their feet a bit over Tevez, but they know it won't be over until he has signed on the dotted line,' said a source close to City.

'Ronaldo's departure has moved the goalposts. United fans have been resigned to him going to Madrid for a long time but they don't want Tevez to follow him out of the door.'
